BY-LAWS OF THE ENGINEERS’ COUNCIL

[edit] Article I – Membership
[edit] Section 1
Regular members of the Engineers’ Council will be representatives from the registered Engineering and Architecture Organizations operating on the Columbus campus of The Ohio State University. Membership also will include two freshman class representatives, and all of the members of the Executive Board. Regular members have voting privileges, are required to attend all meetings of Engineers’ Council, are eligible to serve as delegates to the NAESC conferences, are eligible to be nominated for the University Senate Position, are eligible to chair operating committees, and participate in special events of Engineers’ Council.

- Student Organizations’ Voting Privileges: Student Organizations that are in good standing with the University, and are Voting members on Engineers’ Council are eligible to receive funding from Engineers’ Council. Additional funding cannot be requested until the same quarter of the following year. In order to be eligible for funding, the organization must submit receipts for the previous funding request.

- One excused absence by an Organizational Representative is allowed per academic quarter. Additional absences will result in loss of voting privileges for that organization for the quarter following the one with the additional absences.

Associate membership will come from students in engineering and architecture. These members must show a genuine interest in Engineers’ Council and are required to submit application to the Executive Board in order to obtain Associate member status. These members are eligible to chair operating committees, serve as delegates to the NAESC conference, and participate in special events of the Engineers’ Council. These members do not have voting rights. All former officers of Engineers’ Council are considered Associate members.

Participation on Council is encouraged and open to all engineering and architecture students.
